Break Goals into Small Steps

There is no step too small when it comes to goals. One of the ways that we sabotage our “dreams” is by thinking too far ahead of where we are right now. For example, if you want to run a marathon or do a triathlon, break it down to the smallest steps possible. For example, volunteer at an event. Learn to swim better (take lessons!). Run/walk a 5k. Take spin classes. Buy a used bike and start riding it around the block. Learn about bikes. Etc….along the way, you may figure out that either you LOVE this kind of learning and doing, or you DON’T but something else might come along that better suits your skills and focus. Remember, goals have to be aligned with your true values or you will never work on them.
