Hard work, sweat, sore muscles, mental fatigue. All of these are part of the process when preparing for a race. Not much fun, a lot of work, and truthfully, small chance of “winning.” So, why do it? Because our bodies (and minds) can. It’s that simple: being able to move and do the things required to reach the starting line (and hopefully the finish line) is miraculous. And, along the way we learn again and again that we can do so much more than we think we can.
