How Much Exercise is Good for Your Heart?

Health experts advise 150 minutes per week of “moderate” physical activity or 75 minutes per week of vigorous exercise but what does this actually mean? One way to assess whether you are exercising moderately or vigorously is by something called perceived effort or Borg scale. If 1 is completely at rest and 10 is the hardest speed or effort you can possibly do, “moderate” falls around 5-6: you should be able to talk to a companion without difficulty. “Vigorous” is 7-8 on the scale: talking will be more challenging but should be manageable it as long as your sentences are timed around your breaths. https://www.heart.org/en/healthy-living/fitness/fitness-basics/aha-recs-for-physical-activity-in-adults
